It is really something to sing and dance about.
Dig up those old bones and get them dancing!

Change the two party system
so people against something like abortion
but for something like environmental protection never again get bigger and badder storms
and two bankrupting wars instead.

Grene: Greene Grene of Boughton Boketon, Greene of Drayton, Greene of Gillingham, Greene of Green's Norton
'Traditional sources' provide pedigrees of this family but still neeed verification. The Geocities site mentioned below suggests that the parents of the following Alexander were Geoffrey 'de la Zouche' & Hawise de Fergant b:c1132 in Rohan, Brittany, FRANCE but this more mythical, so it is more likely to be correct in suggesting that he was a great-grandson of one of those who invaded England with William the Conqueror.

Gr24 =26. Sir Alexander de Grene of Boketon or Boughton, Northamptonshire, was a younger son of the de la Zouche family, was given an estate and title as a "Great Baron" by King John of England in 1202 AD. The estate was that of Grene de Boketon. b about 1141
m. Isabelle de Cantilupe dau of Sir Wiliam de Cantilupe, Lord Abergavenny ?? connection provisionally ignored
Gr23 =25. Walter de Grene of Boketon or Boughton was in the Seventh Crusade in 1244. b c 1202 in what is now Boughton aka Boketon, County Northampton d ABT. 1275 in Boughton, County Northampton, Sir Walter is presumed to be buried in the family cemetery of St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Greenes Norton, County Northampshire, England, along with many other family members. Sir Walter's wife is currently unknown. He did have at least one brother named Alexander de Boketon who was born Abt. 1235. Whether this Alexander lived to marry and if there are any descendants is currently unknow
Gr22 =24 John de Grene or Greene of Boketon or Boughton b c 1220 dvp c1271 died in the eight crusade in 1271 leaving a year old son
Gr21 =23 Sir Thomas de Grene/Greene of Boketon or Boughton b about 1270 d a 1319
m. Alice Bottisham dau of Thomas Bottisham possibly Thomas's mother rather than his wife
Gr20 =22 Sir Thomas de Grene or Greene of Boughton b c 1290, Sheriff of Northamptonshire from 1330 till 1332 b: c 1288 d c 1352 In 1334 he was listed in the "Men of the Liberty of the Cinque Ports" given tax exempt status by the Crown. 1334 he was also counted in the Lathe of Eyllesford Aylesford, Hundred of Hoo. 1336 to 1343 Sir Thomas was a Member of Parliament at Northamptonshire, England.
m. 23.10.1312 Lucie la Zouche d 23.10.1326, dau of Eudo la Zouche by Millicent Cantilupe
Gr19 =21 Sir Henry de Green of Boughton, b 1311, d 1369-70 Lord Chief Justice 24th May 1361 till 29th Oct. 1365. He was an English lawyer, and Chief Justice of the King's Bench from May 24, 1361 to October 29, 1365. He probably came from Northamptonshire. Early in his career he served both Queen Isabella and Edward the Black Prince. He was made justice of the Court of Common Pleas in 1354, and knighted by King Edward III. In 1357 he was excommunicated for non-appearance at the trial of Thomas de Lisle, bishop of Ely, in Avignon.
In 1365, while Chief Justice, he was arrested along with Sir William Skipwith, the chief baron of the exchequer, and stripped of his office. The charges were probably corruption; both Green and Skipwith were fined for their offences. Although he was never again employed by the courts, he kept his considerable estates. He died in 1369, and was buried in the church in Boughton in Northamptonshire. At his death his possessions descended on his two sons Henry and Thomas. Henry Green the younger was executed in 1399 as a councillor of Richard II.
Some sites show Sir Henry's wife as Catherine, dau of Sir John de Drayton by Pbilippa d'Arderne but VCH mentioned below shows her to having been a generation later, being ....
m. c1340 Catherine Drayton b 1314, d 1369, dau of Sir Simon de Drayton
Sources disagree on the next few generations. Most follow the line of the younger son Henry then Thomas of Isham some of whose descendants emigrated to America but are inconsistent with those who follow the line of the eldest son, Thomas, evidencing some confusion the cousins & their wives. The following comes from a miscellany of sites including genealogics.org and is to be reviewed further in due course.
