The loss of the Hundred Years War means that the lands in France were lost. TCP treats Richard as the 1st Lord but BE1883, whilst noting that he "sat ... as a baron of the realm", identifies his son John as the 1st Lord. Following TCP, we therefore disagree hereafter with BE1883 as to the numberings of the Lords.

Gr19 | Sir Thomas Grey of Werke Born 30 Nov 1384, Castle Alnwick, Northumberland, seat of the Percy Earls of Northumberland, he came from an old military family of the North Country England. What part, if any, he played in the Percy revolt of 1405 is not clear. However, he became a ringleader of the Southampton Plot in 1415, which aimed to murder King Henry V in Southampton before he sailed to France, and replace him with Edmund Mortimer, 5th Earl of March, whose father, Roger Mortimor's claim to the throne had been usurped by Henry IV, while he was being held hostage. However, Mortimer revealed the plot to the King, and the conspirators were promptly arrested and beheaded on 3 Aug 1415, North Gate, Southampton, Hampshire, England.
