de Vere: Vere of Oxford
Ve28 =29 =30. Aubrey /Alberic de Ver, Sheriff of Berkshire b c 1030 Ver manche Lower Normandy d 1 Sep 1112 Earls Colne Essex
BE1883 identifies his wife, Beatrix, as "Countess of Ghisnes in her own right" but TCP says her "parentage is unknown". It is noted that Aubrey's grandson, the 1st Earl, married a Beatrice of Guisnes, which BE1883 does not, so we presume that BE1883 confused the generations. We follow TCP.
