 * The different middle names, dates of birth and spouses given in different sources may be the result of confusion of the above La8-4) with La8-5, but Fonda Flax Carroll reports John Dorsey Lawrence  and Levin Lawrence as below.

Levin Lawrence La9 was a Quaker. In 1749, and afterwards he was a vestry man of Queen Caroline Parish, Christ Church. His home, Poplar Springs Garden, was a part of Dorsey's Grove, deeded or willed by  John Dorsey Do10 to his four daughters, and their husbands, in his will dated August 5,1735. This land was partitioned in 1750, on November 7. The will is at Annapolis, Maryland,-Register of Wills, Liber B.T. #2, Folio 207. Poplar Springs is about twelve miles south of Elliot City (?Ellicott City), by the Frederick Turnpike. A few years since it was the property of Basil Thomas Grimes.
The house was on Susan Dorsey's estate in 1741, of stone and wood, with brick chimneys.
