The seat of this family was at Abermarles, Carmarthenshire. It is often shown as Albermarles or Albemarles, possibly confused with the place called Albemarle in Normandy which, possibly because of it being of some significance in Plantagenet times, was used in the title for the dukedom of the Moncks and the earldom of the Keppels.

A. Sir Henry Jones, Bart of Abermarles, Sheriff of Carmarthenshire d by 05.1644
m1 Margaret Williams dau of Sir Henry Williams of Gwernevet by Eleanor, dau of Eustace Whitney
1 TCB mentions only Margaret Williams as Henry's wife but BEB1841 mentions only Elizabeth Salisbury. Provisionally, we assume that Sir Henry married twice and, noting the rough date attributed to his marriage with Elizabeth Salisbury, we follow TCB in showing Margaret Williams as mother of his children.
2 TCB identifies the undermentiond Elizabeth as "2d. and yst. da. and eventually sole heir". Debrett's Peerage 1820, vol 1, Marquess Cornwallis identifies Elizabeth as "sole daughter and heir". However, the Stepney records show 2 sisters as probably of this generation, both of whom had children. Provisionally, we show them all as children of this Sir Henry but hope to find confirmation or contradiction of this in due course.
