Dig up those old bones and get them dancing!

Newmarch 1: Newmarch of Brecknock, Newmarch of Cadbury, Newmarch of Whatton
At the beginning of the 12th century, there were at least 3 families who are not likely to have related to each other but with similar names, presumably because they originated from places, whether in England or Normandy/France, where permission for a new market had not long been granted. They were called Newmarch or Newmarsh or Neufmarche, de Novo Foro, de Mercato, or similar.

Little is known of their origin except the coincidence with the granting of new market rights, whether under their influence or not.

Ne29=28=27. Bernard of Neufmarche = Bernard de Newmarch of Brecknock
Bernard's wife is often identified as daughter of Griffyn, son of Llweleyn, Prince of Wales, who cannot have been Llywelyn 'the Great' as he was not born until 1173. So she was more likely granddaughter of Gruffydd, son of Llywelyn, Prince of Deheubarth.
