reports that the father of Richard's wife, Isabel, was Roderic, son of
Griffin, Lord of Shokelach. BP1934 reports that he was William Patrick.
We follow BE1883 as Visitation Cheshire, 1580, Egerton of Egerton and
Oulton reports an Isabell, dau of Roderick ap Griffin, as having married
a Sir Richard Sutton. However, it is somewhat presumptuous that this is
the same Richard Sutton.

BE1883 shows John as succeeded by "his only son", John, but various web sites suggest that he was also father of the following Thomas. BP1934 introduces the son John as "The son of John Sutton and Isabella, his wife" which stretching a point might indicate that, if Thomas was of this generation, he may have been illegitimate. | |||||||||||||||
