Training at the Wallbreakers' baseball field in the winter would be possible if you can stand training at 45° F,
but at 51° 21' 24" north it gets pretty dark rather early, and the wind makes it pretty brisk.
So German inventiveness came up with a solution for all our active hardball and softball players:
indoor competition with a 6 man team and a softer ball.
It is a fast moving game where you really have to be on the ball all the time.
The Winter training will help you pass those cold dark months without putting on extra pounds and let you start the summer season in good shape. |

Many sports minded cities in Germany have large multifunction gymnasiums with roll down divider walls that make three baketball sized courts with bleechers in the spectator galeries.
This is just right for several 12 team tounaments in December, January, February and March.
The Leipzig Wallbreakers won the overall competition in this indoor league this year as in years gone by.
With competitions in Berlin, Hof, Dresden, Kronach and other German cities your year of study abroad can let you
meet a lot of people in Germany in all walks of life if you are on the team. |
