Valence of Pembroke, Vipont of Appleby, de Valoniis / Valoines / Valognes

William de Valence, 'Earl of Pembroke' b after 1225, d before 18.05.1296
William's wife's mother was Joan Marshall, daughter of William, Earl of Pembroke. Although William was often referred to as 'Earl of Pembroke', and sometimes also as Earl of Wexford, TCP Pembroke reports that he was never actually created an Earl. However, BE1883 does identify him as an Earl.
