| There are a number of differences between the record for this family presented by TSP Kilsyth and that presented by BE1883 Kilsyth. BE1883 suggests that Edward's heir was William who married Mary Erskine dau of Thomas, Lord Erskine ie. 2nd Lord and was succeeded by William who married Margaret Graham who was succeeded by William who maried Janet Bruce and died at Flodden. We follow TSP as it specifically considers and rejects the information given by BE1883. It shows one less generation of Williams and identifies the William who died at Flodden as Edward's successor rather than of a later generation.
