1 Strangely, BP1934, which hereafter follows the Petworth branch, mentions only Richard as a child of Thomas, thereby missing the opportunity to show how the later Bowyers of Knipersley connect to this family. BEB1841 starts with William of Petworth just below other than to identify him as grandson of Thomas Bowyer of Knipersley.
2 Unsure of the order of the marriages. BP1934 mentions only Janet Cotton, identifying her as Richard's mother. Grazebrook's Visitation shows Janet as mother of all of the children.
