Wi26 William de Windsor

    William de Windsor (Wi26) was the son of William Fitzwalter of Windsor (Wi27) (Constable of Windsor Castle)
    Born: about 1132, Bradenlove, Buckinghamshire
    Married: m. the King’s daughter
    Died: ABT 1194
    and had issue: 
    (Wi25) William de Windsor, Lord of Stanwell
    He was a powerful Baron in the Reign of King Henry II, which monarch he attended in his expedition into Normandy, when he raised the siege of Vernuel & also vanquished the French in several skirmishes, Held 16 knights fees and ½, Knight, lord of the barony of Windsor & Stanwell, bore for his arms Gules a Saltire Argent & was either slain or died in the said expedition.
