A copy of the Nicholas Bible was made by the late Roger Clark Ballard Thruston of the Filson Club. From the Nicholas Bible, found in an antique table by Mr. Bittner, the cabinet-maker, of Louisville, who notified Mr. Thruston of it.
The Superintendent's Office at Cave HilI says their record
shows Matilda Prather Nicholas (PR5) was buried in Lot 59.,.G on March
11, 1877. He will endeavor to find a further record, if possible showing
when she was first buried. (It is believed that there was a family burial
ground, on the old Thomas Prather Property. located at what is now 4th and
Walnut.)
