In Will Book B of Bracken Co.,Ky. page 164 the will of Nathaniel Mitchell written 27th April 1819 is found. It was recorded in June 1819 and mentions his wife Nancy, sons Morris, William, Phillip and Edward, daughters Delila, Rebecca and Nancy Penlin.
The question arises as to whether the daughter Nancy had Penlin as a middle name or married a Penlin cousin
Possible ancestors: marriage December 21, 1771, John Mitchell and Mary Rosser, see Marriages in Fauquire Co. Va.
Since Simon Kenton led a a group of his family and other settlers from Fauquire Co. to Maysville Kentucky shortly before the Revolution and there were relatively few people in this part of Virginia at the time judging from the small number of marriages in the county, it may be assumed that the Kentons knew the Mitchells and took them along, and that we have to do with the same Mitchell line.

Wife: I lend my whole estate both real and personal during life or widowhood, but in case she marries it is then my desire she shall be thirded. but in sound perfect and disposing memory and understanding praised be Almighty God for the same
do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:
     Item: I give and bequeath to my loving brother James ROSSER one Negro man named Harry, and if it
     shall so happen that my said brother James shall happen to die then the said negro Harry to descend to
     my sister Elizabeth ROSSER. I also give and bequeath my horse, saddle and bridle to my brother
     James and all my wearing apparel.
     Item: I give and bequeath to my dear Mother all my hogs.
     Item: I give to my sister Rachel JACKSON, the wife of John JACKSON, twenty shillings, current

Item I give to my daughter Lucy one feather bed and furniture and two cows and calves one iron pot one frying pan two pewter dishes, 2 basons and 6 new plates to be delivedered to her by executrix and executor hereafter mentioned if she live to receive the same. Ittem it is my will that as much of my personal estate be sold as will pay my just debts my negroes excepted. It is my desire that all the residue of my personal estate be kept in hands of my Exx and Exr to be improved by them in the best manner they shall see fit for the maintenance and educating my children and the remeaindeer be equally divided amongs my thre children and their heirs. Page 558 of the Genealogy and Personal History of Northern Pennsylvania, Volume 2, clearly states: Richard, son of Nathaniel Mitchell, was born in Orange, New Jersey, July 5, 1769, died in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, March 11, 1847. He was one of the early settlers of Chemung County, New York, location in the town of Southport in 1791 with brothers Thomas and Robert. A year later Richard and Thomas came up the Tioga River in a canoe and settled August 27, 1793, at what has since been known as Mitchellcreek. However, the Sarah Kiefer genealogy of the Harris Family, dedicates an entire chapter to the Nathaniel Mitchell/Abigail Harris family (pages 8-45) and their 8 children:
