He5-1 John Hester

     John Hester was the eldest child of John Hester (He6) and Margaret Gilbert (Gi6)
    Born: 25 Dec. 1792 in Mason Co. Ky. (now Fleming Co.)
    Married: Mary Elizabeth Bennington (31 May 1794 - 31 Oct. 1864) on 17 Mar. 1814 in Fleming Co. Ky., daughter of William Bennington Jr. and Margaret Smith, dau. of Robert Smith and Mary Huston.
    Died: about 1838 near Hamersville in Brown Co. Ohio
    Buried:
    Although it is not known eactly when John Hester died and where he was buried Hester Geraldine Lester Searl did visit the Unity Cemetery in 1967 on a hill 2 miles outside Hamersville above Unity Creek, where many had been buried without markers. Both the Land John settled on in 1829 and the farm of his son Gilbert were close to town and near this cemetery. So it is likely that John was buried here, as there is a marker there for his son, Gilbert.

    This cemetery was started by the Cambellites" (Christian Church) in the early 1800's. In 1860 the church was moved into the twn of Hamersville.
