    George attended Handley Elementary and South Intermediate School in Saginaw, Michigan. In the eighth and ninth grades he attended Cranbrook Preparatory School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in 1958 to 1960 but transferred back to Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw and graduated from there in 1963. He took an electronics technician course in Chicago and started with WKNX radio/television until entering the Air Force and served at the US Base in Cam Ran Bay until his mother's terminal illness required his care in January 1971. After her death he took up his old job at WKNX but changed to WJRT in Flint Michigan after a few years, where he continued until retiring in 2007.

    Passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at home after a difficult illness, age 72 years. Gail was born December 28, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Hildegarde (Zaworski) Heuer. She contracted Polio when she was 18 months old and it helped her in life to truly overcome many obstacles. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University and began a career as a teacher of Hearing Impaired children in the Saginaw Public and Saginaw County Hearing Impaired programs. Through her years of teaching, she had many students whom she cared for as if they were her own. She married George Hester on November 2, 1974 in Saginaw who survives her.

    She is also survived by her daughter Emily (Dennis) McDonagh Jr., and their two daughters Grace and Rose; her sister Lynn (Les) Brooks and their children Dan (Tracey) Brooks, Dawn (Michael) Noordijk, Lisa (Shannon) Rupp and their next generation Dana and Cailin Brooks, and Timothy and Jonathan Noordijk; brother-in-law Dr. William Hester and wife Bogumila Hester nee Fialkowska; sister-in-law Jane Thomas und husband Ken Thomas and Aunt Marcella Galush, as well as good friend, Val Stamper.

    Gail was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and brother-in-law Thomas Hester.

    Gail also loved her dogs over the years. Their names include Buffy, Tulip, Katie (who went to school with her) Shelby, Fannie, Carly, Bear, Buster, Bella, Benson, and Willow.

    Memorial Service took place on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street. Rev. Walter David will officiate. Gail’s family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family is requesting to wear masks during visitation and memorial service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Underground Railroad, Saginaw or Humane Society of Genesee County.
