It is really something to sing and dance about.
Dig up those old bones and get them dancing!

Change the two party system
so people against something like abortion
but for something like environmental protection never again get bigger and badder storms
and two bankrupting wars instead.

The Griffith family legend is that an ancestor of Evan Griffith was the second twin son of a lord and missed out on the inheritance due to the law of primogeniture. However, the facts of his indenture to pay his passage to America and apparent experience in husbandry indicate that title did not bear much wealth. Otherwise a small inheritance sufficient for passage and some land in Virginia would have been forthcoming unless there was some kind of falling out with his father and/or brother.

    Griffith Cemetery, Fauquier Co VA
Evan Griffith’s farm is now (2016) owned by Ms. Emily Ristau. The family Cemetery, which is really quite overgrown and obviously un-kept for many years, but has a nice field-stone fence around it. The only headstones to be founnd with inscriptions were for Abner Lee Griffith Born April 28, 1823 – Died January 24, 1888 (son of John William Griffith- Born 1800 – 1869 (a son of Elijah B. Griffith and Elizabeth Cox Flynn) and Mary Sally Flynn Born 1802-Died 1872.). The other was Elijah W. Griffith Born June 21, 1859 – Died April 28. 1915.
apparently Elijah B. Griffith inherited the farm from his Mother Sarah Ann (Willoughby) Griffith, after her passing in 1820. Evan Griffith’s Will of 1795 left 60 acres to him, with the remaining acreage to Dennis, should he outlive his Mother. It appears though, that Dennis predeceased his mother in 1719. Elijah B. as the Executor was, in the event of Sarah’s outliving Dennis, to sell the land and split the proceeds between the remaining children. However while at the Fauquier Co., courthouse Karl saw a 1876 map of Fauquier Co., Va. that clearly listed an E. Griffith (perhaps Elijah W.?) still on land in the general area where the farm stands.
Others listed as buried in the Cemetery by the Fauquier County Tombstone Index are: Abner G. Griffith, James M. Griffith, Judith Francis Griffith and Mary H. Griffith

Presumed site of the Evan Griffith house with only the chimney still standing.

Formal land grant dated after the property was willed to the Griffith children.
