DNA comparison of Matches shared by Gail Childress

70.4 cM of DNA and 60 matches shared by Gail Childress, who shows Mitchell.
However, at the top of the match list is McGee, who shares the author's Jamison ancestry
Childress shares nearly 70 cM of DNA and 60 matches with the author ranking 7th on the latter's match list.

To the left, Harris and both Borads are in known collateral Mitchell lines, while Childress has confirmed that she has a double Mitchell descent, so it is reasonable certain that Haynes must be on a collateral line there too.
Since doing the graphics for this group test results have come for Jones, Lenora G, who shares the author's paternal great grandparents, is a sister of Larry E Jones and also has Childress on her match list.
The match on chr 12 with Childress is in a range that is either Hester DNA on the author's paternal side or Taylor DNA on his mother's side. But the segment shared by Fassbinder goes more to the left indicating that it is Hester, not Taylor DNA. In figure 5 we see Wallace has the full Jamison/Huss matching segment with Jamison = Clan Gunn DNA (North Atlantic) at both ends and Huss DNA (Eastern Europe or East Med) in the middle. The full length of the author's segment here is also shared by Billingsley (figure 6).

There are many matches who do not seem to share the Mitchell ancestry and may even share entirely different ancestors with Childress than with the author, except Schmidt, who does match on two segments on chr 7 and 15 in the same range as Childress, while the segment on chr 2 is just adjacent to Childress's, which looks like "spoused off" DNA.

The discussion and analysis here is to be continued

Crum shows Elkins, Damron ?= Dameron and Lowery, while the author has several matches of that name, and an unknown pre-immigration Lowery - McKay marriage is suspected as cause.

Thompson shows Andrews, Baker, Covington and Carter ancestry, while Dean shows Fitzgerald, Bryant and Dameron

McKay is a maternal branch off the author's mat. grandmother's Prather line of descent.
