Be14 Thomas Beverley


    Be14 Thomas Beverley was the son of John Beverley Be15 and Agnes Draycott dau of Thomas Draycott b 1505 Nottinghamshire and reportedly grandson of Baron Fitzwalter of the Isle of Wight b about 1480 d about 1540. However, the Barony of FitzWalter passed to Elizabeth, Baroness FitzWalter b 28.07.1430, d before 23.08.1485, who married m1 Sir John Ratcliffe of Attleborough d Ferrybridge 28.03.1461 and thence to their son John who became 9th Baron FitzWalter. His son Robert b about 14803 d 27 Nov 1542 became 1st Earl of Sussex, but the Radcliffe pedigree does not include a brother John, while his son Henry b c 1507 did have a 3rd brother Sir John Radcliffe with the remark dsp. who would have been born about 1520 and still within the estimated date of birth of the John sought after.

    Married: Eleanor or Elizabeth Vincent about 1566 in Great Smeton, Yorkshire, England.

    The branch of the Percy family that became the Earls of Northumberland had their family seat in Beverley, as must the Beverleys themselves. This and both families' ties to the House of York seem to indicate some family relationship as well, but to date none has been found.
