It is really something to sing and dance about.
Dig up those old bones and get them dancing!

Break the two party system!

So people against something like abortion
but for something like environmental protection never again get bigger and badder storms
and two bankrupting wars instead.

Make the Electoral College a permanent government body with seat distribution proportional to the party tally in each state and give it the right to approve cabinet members and under secretaries instead of the US Senate!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTES:
a. Summoned to Parliament 24 Dec 1264. He was slain at the battle of Evesham, fighting against the King, who, however, continued the estates to his widow and son, as her father had fought for the King at Evesham. His widow married Ralph de Cromwell as his second wife. She survived him and took the veil before 18 Jun 1293.

b. First Lord Basset of Drayton, he served in the French and Scottish wars. He was summoned to Parliament 23 Jun 1295 to 10 April 1299. He held lands of Ralph Basset of Weldon 1284/85.

c. Richard Basset was found to be son and heir of his father, Ralph Basset, of Weldon (d 1257/58) and aged 30 or more at his father's death. He did homage and had livery of his inheritance 28 Mar 1258.

d. Ralph Basset, son and heir of Richard Basset of Great Weldon and Weston by Welland, Northants, Madeley, co. Stafford, etc., did homage and had livery of his inheritance 25 Jun 1276. He was summoned to attend the King at Shrewsbury 28 Jun 1283.

e. A minor at his father's death, he had livery of his inheritance 1 Jul 1295. He was summoned to attend the King at Salisbury 26 Jan 1296/97, and to Parliament 6 Feb 1298/99, whereby he is held to have become Lord Basset, but none of his descendants were ever summoned to Parliament. He was taken prisoner at Bannockburn, 24 June, and died shortly thereafter, before 18 Aug 1314.

f. He was born at Huntingfield, and baptised in the church there. The custody of his lands, together with his marriage, was obtained by Richard de Grey of Codnor. Having proved his age, 29 Mar 1322, he did homage and had livery of his inheritance the following May. He was summoned against the Scots 5 Apr 1327.

g. Her identity is still a matter of contention. While CP states he married Joan, and cites another source which identifies her as a "daughter of [unknown] Sturdon of Winterbourne, Gloucestershire", some researchers, including Mr. Douglas Richardson, question this, Mr. Richardson stating that he has never found evidence of this Joan's identity as a Sturdon. Some sources have mistakenly identified her as Joan de la Pole, but, in fact, it was this Ralph's son, Ralph, who md Joan de la Pole.

h. Edith Fitz Forn, mother of Edith d'Ouilly, was the sister of Ivo of Greystoke, both being children of Forn, son of Sigulf.
